Chevrolet renews Major League Baseball sponsorship

(May 13, 2016) DETROIT — Chevrolet announced Thursday that it has renewed its Major League Baseball (MLB) sponsorship, a partnership that dates back to 2005. Chevrolet will continue to be the Official Vehicle of Major League Baseball and also becomes the Official Automotive Sponsor of MLB and USA Baseball’s Play Ball initiative.

Morris Minor mountain yard art



This ragged-out Morris Minor convertible — used as yard art — was found near Boone, N.C. The diminutive Morris Minor was built in Great Britain from 1948 through 1972 with more than 1.3 million manufactured in various configurations including a two-door sedan, convertible, wagon and panel van. Engine horsepower through the years ranged from 27 to 48. Some of the earliest models took a glacier-like 50 seconds to go from 0-to-60.

Nissan, Mitsubishi forge alliance; Nissan gets 34% stake in Mitsubishi

(May 12, 2016) YOKOHAMA and TOKYO, Japan — Nissan and Mitsubishi announced today that they have signed a basic agreement to form a far-reaching strategic alliance between the two Japanese automakers.

Following an Mitsubishi share issue, Nissan will take a 34 percent equity stake in Mitsubishi for 237 billion yen ($2.2 billion).

The strategic alliance will extend an existing partnership between Nissan and Mitsubishi, under which the two companies have jointly collaborated for the past five years.

Hyundai adds fuel-efficient (35 mpg combined) Eco trim to new Elantra

(May 12, 2016) FOUNTAIN VALLEY, Calif. — Hyundai Motor America today announced pricing for the all-new 2017 Elantra Eco, which comes well-equipped with a new fuel-efficient turbocharged powertrain, advanced safety features and user-friendly technology for $21,485 including destination charge.

Assembled in Montgomery at Hyundai Motor Manufacturing Alabama, the new Elantra Eco arrives in dealerships this month, joining the rest of the 2017 Hyundai Elantra trims including the SE and the premium-appointed Limited.

Chevrolet Silverado High Desert brings refined utility
