GM announces $5.4 billion in U.S. plant investments

(May 1, 2015) PONTIAC, Mich. — General Motors announced Thursday it will invest $5.4 billion in U.S plant improvements during the next three years, including details of $783.5 million for three Michigan facilities.

“These investments are evidence of a company on the move, strategically investing in the people, tools and equipment to produce cars, trucks and crossovers that are built to win in the marketplace, with stunning design, quality and breakthrough technologies,” GM North America President Alan Batey said at the Pontiac Metal Center, where $124 million will be invested.

1957 Ford seeks a good home



This 1957 Ford has probably been for sale for a considerable amount of time based on its condition. The Ford sedan was spotted along the side of a road in rural Kentucky south of Cincinnati. The full-size Ford was restyled for 1957 and came with six engine choices — a 3.7-liter inline 6, and 4.5-liter, 4.8-liter, 5.1-liter, 5.4-liter and 5.8-liter V-8s. Transmission choices were a three-speed manual or a two-speed or three-speed automatic.

Next-generation 640-horsepower Cadillac CTS-V launches this summer

(April 30, 2015) DETROIT — Cadillac announced Wednesday that U.S. dealers will begin accepting orders for the next-generation 2016 CTS-V, the all-new high-performance sedan that launches in late summer. The 640-horsepower CTS-V is the second of two all-new V-Series models to come to market in 2015, following the smaller ATS-V coupe and sedan, which launches in late spring.

Audi continues to work on headlights of the future

(April 29, 2015) INGOLSTADT, Germany — Audi is further extending its lead in automotive lighting technology. In the sponsored project “intelligent laser light for compact and high-resolution adaptive headlights” (iLaS), Audi is working on the headlights of the future with partners from industry and science. Audi says that Matrix Laser technology and its high resolution will make roadway illumination even more flexible and highly versatile — in all situations.

Ford announces limited run of 2015 Shelby GT350, GT350R models

BMW to contest One Lap of America with 567-horsepower X6 M

(April 29, 2015) WOODCLIFF LAKE, N.J. —  The BMW Performance Center, with partners BMW Manufacturing, BMW Performance Parts and IHG Rewards Club, has announced that it will compete in the 2015 One Lap of America with the all-new 567 horsepower 2015 X6 M starting May 2.

This year’s team will be co-piloted by BMW Performance Center Driving Instructor, Michael Renner, BMW Powertrain Engineer Michael Broad and One Lap veteran Tom Lappin.
