Nissan's around view technology goes underwater for deep sea exploration

(April 10, 2015) YOKOHAMA, Japan — Nissan is providing its unique Around View Monitor (AVM) technology to the Japan Agency for Marine-Earth Science and Technology (JAMSTEC) and Topy Industries through a joint development project that may help uncover the mysteries of the oceans.

The joint development contract with JAMSTEC and Topy, one of the top manufacturers of robot crawlers in Japan, will enhance the government agency's ability to search deep underwater for natural resources using remotely operated vehicles (ROVs). Nissan's AVM technology will help ROV operators avoid obstacles and navigate the ocean seafloor more easily.

Ford retains UK leadership on strong commercial vehicle sales

(April 10, 2015) BRENTWOOD, Essex, UK — Ford retained clear UK market leadership in March with its commercial vehicle range contributing 16,497 units to the 79,963 total vehicle sales. In its 50th year as UK commercial vehicle sales leader, Ford has recorded its highest ever monthly CV sales, beating the previous record set in September last year of 15,503. 

According to the official sales figures from the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders, in the first quarter of 2015 Ford’s sales of commercial vehicles are up 43 per cent compared with the same period in 2014.

'Drive Proud' advertising campaign debuts for the 2015 Chrysler 300

Narrated by Peter Dinklage ("Game of Thrones"), the “Drive Proud” campaign celebrates the Americans who have earned their success, from entrepreneurs and small-business owners to self-employed contractors, designers and artists.

The 60-second launch spot, titled “The Kings & Queens of America,” began airing Thursday night.

Chevrolet introduces 2015 Silverado HD Custom Sport editions

(April 9, 2015) DENVER — Chevrolet is adding a monochromatic look to the Silverado 2500 HD and 3500 HD with new Custom Sport editions, which debuted this week at the Denver Auto Show.

Silverado Custom Sport HDs feature body-colored front and rear bumpers, a body-colored grille with chrome-accent bars, chrome door handles and body-side moldings, and chrome-accented trailering mirrors.

Honda to halt production of slow-selling Crosstour crossover

(April 9, 2015) Honda announced Wednesday that it will end production of the slow-selling Accord Crosstour at the end of the 2015 model year. There have been rumors that the Crosstour was on the chopping block because of slow to almost nonexistent sales. Honda said that terminating the Accord derivative will enable Honda to build more CR-V and Acura RDX crossovers at its East Liberty, Ohio, plant. Both are strong sellers for Honda.

Honda's Indiana plant reaches one millionth production milestone

(April 8, 2015) GREENSBURG, Ind. — Associates at Honda Manufacturing of Indiana (HMIN) today celebrated a production milestone of the 1 millionth car built at the plant. The completion of HMIN's 1 millionth vehicle comes only six years after the start of mass production at the $800 million facility on Oct. 9, 2008.

Margaret Thatcher's 'battle bus' goes up for sale

(April 8, 2015) LONDON — An armored coach used by "Iron Lady" Margaret Thatcher as her campaign ‘battle bus’ has been put up for sale. The bomb-proof vehicle was built in 1983 and is believed to have been used for the former Prime Minister’s Northern Ireland tour. Current owner Nick Mead is seeking £25,000 ($37,500) for the bus and plans to list it on Ebay, but is ideally hoping to find a buyer in the UK.
