The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety surveyed owners of vehicles equipped with front crash prevention, blind spot detection or rearview or other visibility-enhancing cameras. Among those who reported that at least one of those systems had been repaired for any reason, about half said they had issues with the features after the job was completed.

Luxury share of U.S. market sets record inflating transaction prices



(February 15, 2023) ATLANTA — The average transaction price (ATP) of a new vehicle in the U.S. declined slightly in January to $49,388, a decrease of 0.6% ($310) from December's record high and up 5.9% ($2,768) from levels one year earlier. New-vehicle inventory levels are increasing from historic lows in early 2022, but prices remain elevated, according to data released by Kelley Blue Book.

Lexus is the overall leader and Kia ranks highest among mass market brands. Genesis is second overall behind Lexus and Kia ranks third overall.

(February 7, 2023) WASHINGTON, D.C. — The national average for a gallon of gas barely budged over the past week, drifting lower by three cents to $3.47. Last week’s decision by OPEC+ to maintain current production levels and not make any cuts led to lower oil prices. But Friday’s blockbuster U.S. report of 517,000 jobs added in January, dropping the unemployment rate to a 54-year low of 3.4%, may have the opposite effect. Are recession fears fading, and could a healthier global economy lead to more demand for oil and higher prices?
