Mitsubishi reports record Outlander Sport sales In June

(July 3, 2013) CYPRESS, Calif. — Mitsubishi Motors reports that the U.S.-built Outlander Sport showed its best-ever sales for a single month in June.  The 2,634 units sold represent a year-over-year sales increase of more than 80 percent.

The record total marks the 10th consecutive month of sales increases for the CUV.  Outlander Sport sales are up more than 54 percent year to date.

Toyota recalling 74 Yaris cars from 2012 model year over steering issue

(July 3, 2013) TORRANCE, Calif. — Toyota today announced that it will conduct a voluntary safety recall involving approximately 74 model year 2012 Toyota Yaris vehicles.
 
In the involved vehicles, a relay in the power steering control module of the electronic power steering system could experience a short circuit due to insufficient distances between terminals in the relay and moisture contamination of relay coil windings.  This could cause a loss of power steering assist, resulting in increased steering effort at low speeds.

GM reports highest monthly sales since September 2008

(July 3, 2013) DETROIT — General Motors sold 264,843 vehicles in the United States in June, up 6 percent compared with a year ago. Deliveries to retail customers increased 14 percent while fleet sales declined 9 percent due to the timing of customer deliveries.

Toyota eclipses 10 million in Camry sales

Trucks lead the way as Ford reports June sales up 13 percent

(July 2, 2013) DEARBORN, Mich. — Ford’s U.S. June sales grew 13 percent compared with a year ago, marking Ford’s best June sales results since 2006. Cars are up 12 percent, utilities are up 8 percent, and trucks are up 20 percent.

GM, Honda to collaborate on next-generation fuel cell technologies

Chrysler reports best June sales since 2007

(July 2, 2013) AUBURN HILLS, Mich. — Chrysler today reported U.S. sales of 156,686 units, an 8 percent increase compared with sales in June 2012 when 144,811 units were sold, and the group’s best June sales since 2007. The Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge, Ram Truck and Fiat brands each posted year-over-year sales gains in June compared with the same month a year ago.
