(November 27, 2012) WASHINGTON, D.C. — After a three-week, 28-city tour across the United States, the 73-foot Engelmann Spruce Christmas tree that will be illuminated outside the U.S. Capitol building arrived Monday morning in Washington.

"The People's Tree" began its 5,012 mile cross-country journey on Nov. 2 from the White River National Forest in Colorado en route to the nation's capital. The tree's journey was under the supervision of the U.S. Forest Service.
