Tesla recalling nearly 3,900 Cybertrucks for faulty accelerator pedals

(April 19, 2024) Tesla is recalling 3,878 Cybertrucks due to an accelerator pad that may dislodge and become trapped within the car’s interior trim. The recall covers 2024 model Cybertrucks. A dislodged pedal could cut torque on both the accelerator and brake pedals, increasing the risk of a crash, the National Highway Traffic  Safety Administration said in its recall report.

Scheduled deliveries of the Cybertruck have been delayed due to issues with the accelerator pedal, according to online reports.

Tesla told NHTSA it is not aware of any injuries related to the defect. KSR International Inc. was identified as the supplier of the part, NHTSA's report said. Owner letters are expected to be mailed sometime in June 2024.
