A Mini inspired by the Rolls Royce design team to be shown in Shanghai

(April 13, 2011) A mini designed in collaboration with the Rolls Royce design team is perhaps a bit upscale for the typical Mini buyer. But that's the new limited-run model that will be shown at the Shanghai auto show next week.

The design team at the development center of Rolls-Royce in Goodwood, England, has produced the special edition Mini, whose exterior and interior design is inspired by fine materials and the British luxury car marque's commitment to flawless workmanship.

It 's called the Mini Inspired by Goodwood.

The Mini Inspired by Goodwood is characterized by top-grade materials, the highest level of workmanship and stylish supremacy. The special edition of the three-door MINI transfers the unmistakable style of the British luxury car manufacturer to the equally unique original within the premium small car segment.

Mini says in a press release that the exterior and interior design features, which were conceived at the Rolls-Royce Design division provide the model from the MINI Yours range with a fascinating charisma and an incomparably high-quality ambience.

Only 1,000 will be made and the cars will be delivered a year from now.

The Mini will be done in the luxury car's "corn silk" interior colors with black accents. The dashboard and door handles will be finished in walnut. The letters and numbers on the speedometer will be done in the same typeface used on a Rolls.

Outside, the car will have the same shade of black as a Rolls.

The car is powered by the same turbocharged 181-horsepower, l.6-liter four-cylinder engine that was featured for the first time in the 2011 Mini Cooper S.
