Maserati kicks off cultural tour of China

(June 10, 2019) SHANGHAI — Italian luxury automotive brand Maserati began a new chapter in China Sunday by officially kicking off a one-month cultural tour across the country. Starting with a grand celebration at the Shanghai Port International Cruise Terminal, which is a blend of Chinese and Western arts and cultures, the event aims to salute China’s rich heritage.

Being the longest event for an in-depth experience launched by Maserati in recent years, the grand tour is a special celebration of the 105th anniversary of the brand and the 15th anniversary of its entry into China, as well as a tribute to the long-standing Chinese civilization.

The highlight of the kick-off celebration came as Maserati’s latest models lined up against the Huangpu River, forming the number “15.” The Quattroporte, Ghibli and Levante represented the distinctive Italian flair and timeless style deeply rooted in Maserati’s DNA. Above this stunning display, the legendary trident logo was proudly projected onto the Shanghai International Port Group building.

Maserati has a rich 105-year global history, and for 15 years, the brand has grown in China and it has witnessed the country’s rapid development.

To celebrate this double anniversary, this M-shaped tour covers 10,000 kilometers from east to west and consists of four routes across China. Participants will climb the mountains of East China, visit ancient cities in the Taihang mountain area, cross the fascinating frescos along the ancient Silk Road, and drive along the extremely beautiful areas in West China.
