Karma to use goldRush Rally to build awareness in new Revero GT

(June 12, 2019) IRVIN, Calif. — Karma Automotive, a Southern California-based luxury electric vehicle company and high-tech incubator, will use its first-ever appearance in goldRush Rally ELEVEN, The Next Chapter, to build awareness and excitement for its 2020 Revero GT in advance of the luxury electric vehicle’s public availability later this year.

The rally is a 3,000-mile, nine-day automotive lifestyle driving event traveling from Miami to Austin, Texas, popular among the country’s most prominent auto-enthusiasts who participate in and follow the drive. As one of goldRush Rally ELEVEN’s top sponsors, Karma will participate with two pre-production 2020 Revero GT vehicles.

“The 2020 Karma Revero GT is new from the ground up; it’s faster, smarter, and even more stunning in design than its predecessor,” says Joost de Vries, Karma’s vice president of Global Sales and Customer Experience. “We’ll use goldRush Rally ELEVEN to show the world how well our new car performs, how great it looks and build excitement and anticipation for its arrival at our dealerships.”

It’s also an opportunity for the automaker to add to the more than one million miles its engineers expect to log as part of Karma’s rigorous engineering validation process for its new vehicle. This year’s rally includes travel through Miami, Amelia Island, Fla., Atlanta, Cincinnati, Chicago, Minneapolis, Kansas City, Mo., Oklahoma City, and the finale in Austin, Texas.

Karma’s goldRush Rally ELEVEN pre-production Revero GT vehicles will feature a special exterior wrap design to honor Southern California’s rich aviation history and the iconic P-51 Mustang, built by North American Aviation and produced in Inglewood, Calif.

“Special customization treatments that make every Karma unique is an important foundational element of our Karma brand,” said Andreas Thurner, VP of Karma’s Design Operations. “Our goal was to pay tribute to an important element of Karma’s Southern California heritage and provide the 2020 Revero GT with a unique exterior treatment to complement its stunning design so it would stand out from the other rally cars that much more.”

Karma’s 2020 Revero GT offers improved technology, performance, interior and exterior options and customization capability. It features a TwinPower Turbo three-cylinder in-line engine supplied by BMW AG to power an on-board electric generator and enhance overall vehicle performance. Dual electric motors produce 536 HP at peak power and a 28kWh mid-mounted lithium-ion HV battery generates up to 80 miles of all-EV driving — and up to 360 miles of driving when combined with the car’s on-board generator. The 2020 Revero GT hits 0-60mph in 4.5 seconds, nearly a full second faster than the model it replaces.

The 2020 Revero GT is a product of Karma’s Design Studio located at the company’s global headquarters in Irvine, Calif., and is built largely by hand at Karma’s Innovation and Customization Center in Moreno Valley, Calif.

“The 2020 Revero GT is the definitive luxury electric vehicle,” de Vries adds. “Our car offers the best of both worlds – extended EV capability without any range anxiety. We believe this is the optimal solution for the luxury markets of today.”

goldRush Rally spans from Saturday, June 22, to Sunday, June 30. Participants are luxury car owners who drive together through nine high-profile cities, and all the smaller towns in between, and are hosted in exclusive VIP parties and luxury accommodations along the way.
