GM Daewoo sales grow

(January 3, 2011) SEOUL, South Korea — GM Daewoo Auto & Technology announced today that in December it sold 14,313 vehicles in Korea and exported 56,835 vehicles, for total monthly sales of 71,148 vehicles.

Buoyed by its best monthly sales of the year in December, GM Daewoo’s domestic sales in December jumped 14.0 percent to 14,313 vehicles from 12,553 vehicles in November 2010.

“Our rise in domestic sales was driven by strong demand for the Matiz Creative mini-car and the new model year version of the Lacetti Premiere. December was the best month of the year for the Matiz Creative since its launch in 2009, with sales of 7,329 vehicles,” said Ankush Arora, GM Daewoo Vice President of Vehicle Sales, Service and Marketing.

“In addition, domestic demand continued to grow for the new Alpheon world-class luxury sedan, which we launched in September,” said Arora. “GM Daewoo also profited from a series of aggressive sales promotions such as the Best Residual Value Guarantee Program.”
