(July 19, 2012) DETROIT — Former NBA and University of Michigan basketball star Chris Webber dropped in on General Motors’ Detroit-Hamtramck plant, home of the Chevrolet Volt, on Wednesday to gather video footage for a documentary of his life. Webber’s father, Mayce, worked at the plant for 30 years before retiring.



Webber, who helped lead Michigan to the college basketball championship game twice in the 1990s before a 15-year NBA career, greeted workers and checked out the Volt, plugging in its electrical charger and finding ample room for his 6-foot-10 frame.
