Ford's China sales up 37.5 percent when compared to February 2009

(March 2, 2010) In one of the typically slower months for China's auto industry, Changan Ford Sales Company today reported strong February sales of 18,193 Ford brand passenger vehicles, marking a 37.5 percent increase over the same period last year. The solid monthly sales performance also pushed the company’s year-over-year growth to 13 consecutive months.

Changan Ford saw consistent sales growth across its vehicle range in February, with Ford Focus sales rising more than 22 percent from the same month last year to 9,425 units, representing its best February sales since being launched in 2005. Ford Mondeo also achieved its best-ever February sales, rising more than 24 percent from a year ago, while Ford S-MAX recorded a significant 85 percent jump in sales versus the same period last year.

The Ford Fiesta continued to rack up strong sales in February of 4,857 units, boosting total sales to 59,362 units since its launch last year. The Fiesta also continued to add to its collection of more than 54 awards in China to date, including "Best Small Car of 2010" from sina.com and "Small Car of the Year" from China Auto Pictorial.
