Fiat Chrysler Canada reports best June sales since 1985

(July 2, 2015) WINDSOR, Ontario — FCA Canada has reported June 2015 sales of 27,217, compared with 27,013 sold in June 2014. The results mark the best June sales since 1985.

”We were the largest manufacturer of vehicles in Canada in 2014 and with the $2 billion investment in our Windsor Assembly Plant and new minivan program, the future of Canada’s #1 selling minivan has never looked brighter,” said Dave Buckingham, chief operating officer, FCA Canada. 
 
The Ram brand reported 9,081 trucks sold for the month. Looking specifically at Ram pickup truck sales within the full Ram brand line-up, there were 8,526 sold in June 2015, compared with 7,251 trucks sold in June 2014. This represent an 18 per cent year-over-year increase and mark a June sales record for both the Ram brand and Ram pickup trucks.
 
The Jeep brand set a June sales record with 6,931 vehicles, compared with 6,817 sold in June 2014. These results mark the 16th month of consecutive year-over year sales gains for the Jeep Brand. Jeep Cherokee continues to flourish within the mid-size SUV segment with 2,361 sales, which is an increase of 3 per cent from 2,286 reported in June 2014.

Looking at passenger car sales, Dodge Challenger had a phenomenal month with the sale of 326 vehicles. These results represent an increase of 149 per cent, compared with 131 sold in June 2014.

With the Windsor Assembly Plant retooling project complete and employees back to building the Dodge Grand Caravan and Chrysler Town & Country minivans, an increase of 14 per cent in minivan sales was reported in June 2015 with 6,186 minivans sold, compared with the same results from June 2014, when 5,420 minivans were sold.
