Dodge releases pictures of new Durango

(September 2, 2010) Dodge has released pictures of its all-new 2011 Durango. But few details have been made available on the big SUV that will go on sale late this year.

We do know that the Durango shares its platform with the 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee and will be built on the same Detroit assembly line as the Cherokee.

Unlike the Grand Cherokee, the Durango will feature three rows of seating. Engine choices are the 3.6-liter Pentastar V-6 and the 5.7-liter Hemi V-8 with cylinder deactivation. In the safety department, side airbags, side-curtain airbags and stability control are standard.

Towing capacity will be among best in class with a 6,200-pound rating for the V-6 and 7,400 pounds for the V-8.
