Detroit auto show attendance up

(January 17, 2011) DETROIT — The 2011 North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) continued to exceed attendance figures for the second consecutive day over the 2010 show.

Attendance was up nearly six percent for the first two public show days.

Attendance on Sunday was more than 99,000, reflecting a nearly three percent increase over 2010. On the first public day, Saturday, attendance was nearly 87,000, an increase of approximately 3.5 percent.

"We're currently trending to meet our goal of 725,000-750,000 attendees at NAIAS 2011," said Barron Meade, Chairman. "I'd like to express a heartfelt thank you to everyone behind the scenes here at NAIAS who has helped contribute to the show goers' positive experience."
