Chrysler again tops in sales in Canada

(March 2, 2013) WINDSOR, Ontario — Chrysler Canada today announced its 39th consecutive month of year-over-year sales growth, representing the longest sales streak in the company’s history. February 2013 sales were 16,832 compared with 16,536 vehicles sold in February, 2012, which represents a 2 per cent increase.

These sales results maintain Chrysler Canada’s position as the number one seller of vehicles in the country for the first two months of 2013. Chrysler and Ford were in a battle for the number one position throughout 2012.

”Our strong Ram truck sales fortify why the 2013 Ram 1500 recently received a triple crown win of prestigious automotive awards (North American Truck/Utility of the Year, Motor Trend Truck of the Year and Truck of Texas),” said Dave Buckingham, chief operating officer, Chrysler Canada. ”Not to be outdone, our passenger car sales continue to perform equally strong, as evidenced by a 16 per cent sales improvement compared to the same month, one year ago… thanks in great part to the Chrysler 200, Dodge Avenger, Fiat 500 and Dodge Dart”

In February of 2013, 1,146 consumers chose Jeep Wrangler as their new vehicle, compared with 1,131 in the same month of 2012. This represents an increase of 1 per cent and a monthly sales record.
