Automobile Magazine names its 'all-stars'

(December 15, 2010) Tis the season for automotive awards, and all the major automotive magazines and numerous internet sites jump on the end-of-the-year bandwagon.

Today it is Automobile magazine's turn to dominate the the scene with its Automobile Magazine All-Stars, 10 vehicles the editors deemed most noteworthy.

They are the 3-Series BMW, the Cadillac CTS-V Sports Wagon, the Ford Mustang, the Honda Odyssey, the Hyundai Sonata, the Jaguar XJ, the Porsche Boxster/Cayman, the Dodge Ram 1500, the Volkswagen GTI and the Volvo S60.

The problem for Automobile and other magazines is that there are so many new vehicles that are worthy of consideration. 2011 is a model year of incredible riches. For instance, neither the much ballyhooed Chevrolet Volt hybrid nor the pure electric Nissan Leaf were named to the all-star lineup.  Also missing were the redone Jeep Grand Cherokee, the all-new Audi A8, and the Buick Regal.
