(May 15, 2023) WASHINGTON, D.C. — AAA projects 42.3 million Americans will travel 50 miles or more from home this Memorial Day weekend, a 7% increase over 2022. This year, 2.7 million more people will travel for the unofficial start of summer compared to last year, a sign of what’s to come in the months ahead.

Increasing demand, but lower cost of oil cancels price hikes



(May 12, 2023) WASHINGTON, D.C. — The national average for a gallon of gas drifted lower by just four cents since last week to $3.53. The lackluster movement can be attributed to higher demand for gasoline but a lower cost for oil canceling each other out, according to AAA's weekly report.

Small cars falter in updated moderate overlap crash test



(May 11, 2023) Most small cars don’t provide good protection for rear-seat passengers, the latest crash test ratings from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety show. None of the five small cars IIHS tested earns a good rating. The Honda Civic sedan and Toyota Corolla sedan are rated acceptable. The Kia Forte, Nissan Sentra and Subaru Crosstrek are rated poor.

New-vehicle transaction prices level off in April



(May 10, 2023) ATLANTA — The average price Americans paid for a new vehicle in April remained below the manufacturer's suggested retail price (MSRP) for the second consecutive month, according to data released today by Kelley Blue Book. The average transaction price (ATP) of a new vehicle in the U.S. remained relatively flat in April at $48,275, a month-over-month decrease of 0.03% ($14) from an upwardly revised March reading of $48,289.

Fear of global economic recession cause of falling gas prices
