Subaru leads for third straight month in TrueCar's performance scorecard

(August 15, 2012) SANTA MONICA, Calif.— TrueCar.com, the authority in new car pricing, trends and forecasting released its Performance Scorecards grading automotive manufacturers and brands for their performance in the month of July. The Performance Scorecards grade each manufacturer and brand on eight different measurements including pricing, sales, incentives, customer loyalty, market share, and days in inventory.

Overall, the top manufacturers on the Scorecards in July were Subaru, Toyota, BMW and Jaguar Land Rover. Near the bottom of the list were Nissan, Mitsubishi, Suzuki, and Volvo. The brands that received the highest grades were Scion, Land Rover, Subaru, Audi and Fiat. The brands with the lowest grades were Mazda, Mitsubishi, Suzuki, Jaguar and Volvo.

The manufacturers with the largest gains, from June 2012 to July 2012 were:
    •    Mazda moved from a C- to a C+
    •    Volkswagen moved from a B to B+
    •    Daimler moved from a B- to a B
    •    Honda moved from a C+ to a B-

The manufacturers with the steepest declines, from June 2012 to July 2012 were:
    •    Chrysler moved from a B+ to a B
    •    General Motors (GM) moved from a B to an B-
    •    Porsche moved from an B- to a C+
    •    Mitsubishi moved from a C+ to a C
    •    Suzuki moved from a C to a C-
