Peterson museum unveils 1941 dealership exhibit

(April 2, 2012) Through the efforts of the Buick Heritage Alliance, Petersen Automotive Museum in Los Angeles recently unveiled a pre-war-style Buick dealership exhibit, complete with period signage.

Its specific setting is 1941, a year in which many customers took the opportunity to purchase a new car just in case the war really did reach our shores.

Under the period lights of the showroom floor are three fully restored examples from Flint that model year: a Super convertible sedan finished in Monterey blue with a red leather interior (on loan from Michael Kaminsky); a Super Sport Coupe wearing period dealer accessories and Mermaid green over Cedar green paint (on loan from Carlos Wilhelm); and a Limited Formal Sedan finished in Silver French gray over Lancaster gray (on loan from David Harrison).

The display will run through July 29.
