Kia has found the right formula for its new Sorento crossover sport jutility vehicle based on sales figures through the first three-fourths of 2010. It stands head and shoulders above the previous Sorento, which was smaller and built on a body-on-frame platform.

The new compact SUV is of unibody construction and offers a viable alternative to the most popular nameplates in the segment, the Honda CR-V and the Toyota RAV4.

It is stylish and roomy and can be ordered with three rows of seats. And it's built at a new plant in West Point, Ga.
