Kia announces $200 million Georgia plant expansion for EV9



(July 13, 2023) IRVINE, Calif. — Kia Georgia's West Point assembly plant is undergoing a transformation that will allow for the assembly of the all-electric 2024 EV9 three-row SUV in the second quarter of 2024. This over $200 million expansion will create nearly 200 additional jobs  with the EV9 joining the Telluride, Sorento and Sportage SUVs and the K5 mid-size sedan as the fifth model to be assembled at Kia Georgia.

(July 12, 2023) ATLANTA — In a new 2023 Porsche 911 GT3 RS, professional race car driver Dimitri Dimakos set a new production car track record at Road America in Wisconsin. Dimakos, a veteran of the Porsche Deluxe Carrera Cup North America, lapped the four mile, 14-turn road course in a time of two-minutes, 13.8 seconds.

Ford Escape investigated over doors opening while driving



(July 12, 2023) WASHINGTON — U.S. auto safety regulators have opened an investigation into older model Ford Escape compact crossovers after reports of an alleged safety defect that could cause the front doors to inadvertently open while driving, according to Automotive News. About 346,000 Ford Escape vehicles from the 2020-21 model years could be affected.

Stop-drive recall made for 2003 Dodge Ram pickups

One millionth fourth generation Mini 3-door delivered in Canada



(July 11, 2023) In mid-April, Mini announced that the one millionth example of the current generation Mini had rolled off the production line. On Wednesday, June 28, that vehicle was delivered to Steve and Kerry Lockhart who are now part of the Mini family. The one millionth Mini of the current generation is an all-electric Mini Cooper SE built at Plant Oxford in the United Kingdom. Fittingly, the tradition-rich British plant is celebrating its 110th anniversary this year.

Arriving on 2024 Mustang — Ford exit warning for road users



(July 10, 2023) Ford is unveiling a new driver assistance feature called Exit Warning, which will be available to customers this summer on all models of the all-new 2024 Ford Mustang to help safely share the road and protect vulnerable road users like cyclists, scooter riders and pedestrians. If a vulnerable road user is approaching the Mustang, it warns the driver before they open their door.
