'Nissan Titan Truckumentary' tells story of next-generation pickup development

Ford Police Interceptors repeat as quickest accelerating in state testing

(November 29, 2014) DEARBORN, Mich. — Ford, manufacturer of the best-selling police vehicles since 1996, trumped the competition in recent instrumented acceleration testing conducted separately by the Michigan State Police and Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department.

 The EcoBoost-powered Ford Police Interceptor sedan bested all V8-equipped competitors’ sedans in testing by both Michigan and California authorities, while Ford Police Interceptor utility with EcoBoost out-accelerated the competition’s all-new V8-equipped utility and all base V6-powered sedans.

Photos of 1900 motor car run in England acquired by museum

(November 27, 2014) LONDON — The National Motor Museum Trust has acquired an important photographic album documenting the 1000 Mile Trial of 1900, a pivotal moment in motoring history which John Montagu, father of the current Lord Montagu, famously took part in.

This collection of photographs, which was purchased in the Bonhams London to Brighton sale on Oct. 31, covers the grueling run of early motor cars from London to Edinburgh and back by the event’s official photographer, Albert Argent Archer. This one-off event helped to change the public’s negative perception of motor cars at the turn of the century.

(November 28, 2014) I'm not the kind of guy who wants to spend a lot of time in Washington D.C. walking the monuments, gazing at the cherry blossoms or dealing with the traffic. Been there; done that. It's one of those places I think everyone should visit at least once — like the French Quarter in New Orleans, Key West, Las Vegas and so on and so forth — but once you've had the experience, you've had the experience.

Renault-Nissan Alliance sells its 200,000th electric vehicle

(November 26, 2014) Together, Renault and Nissan electric vehicles have driven nearly 2.5 billion zero-emission miles — enough to circle the earth 100,000 times. Renault-Nissan's EVs represent 53 million gallons of fuel saved — enough to fill about 80 Olympic-sized swimming pools.

The Alliance sold its 200,000th EV in early November, about four years after the launch of the Nissan Leaf, the world's first mass-market electric vehicle. Nissan Leaf remains the best-selling electric vehicle in history.

Honda marks milestone: Global production of 300 million motorcycles

(November 26, 2014) TORRANCE, Calif. — Achieving a milestone more than 65 years in the making, Honda has announced production of its 300-millionth motorcycle. The milestone bike is a Honda Gold Wing produced at the company's Kumamoto Factory in Japan.  Honda will celebrate the 40th anniversary of the iconic Gold Wing in 2015.

Honda began mass production of motorcycles in Japan in 1949 when it built the Honda 98cc Dream Type-D.  Today, Honda produces motorcycles, ATV's and side-by-sides at 32 plants in 22 countries, including two plants in North America.

Art cars from BMW by Lichtenstein and Nelson on display in Miami

(November 25, 2014) MIAMI — BMW will present two of its legendary BMW Art Cars — the BMW 320 by Roy Lichtenstein (1977) and the BMW M3 by Michael Jagamara Nelson (1989) — at the 2014 Art Basel in Miami Beach. Both BMW Art Cars will be on view from Dec. 4 until the end of the fair on Dec.7.
