End of the road for a people hauler

This old bus has eluded the scrap yard by hiding in overgrown bushes and a couple of trees felled by storms over the years in eastern North Carolina. We were not able to determine the vintage of the destroyed people hauler — perhaps a school bus — but we do know it has come to an inglorious end. (Photo by Jim Meachen)

Nissan launches Murano production in Canton, Miss.

(November 6, 2014) CANTON, Mississippi — Nissan's Canton Vehicle Assembly Plant has gone global as the company rolls the first all-new 2015 Nissan Murano off the line today, marking the first time the model has been produced in the U.S. Nissan Canton is now the company's worldwide hub for Murano production, expanding export opportunities from the plant to more than 100 markets.

Jaguar, Land Rover to debut new models, technology in L.A.

(November 6, 2014) MAHWAH, N.J. — Amidst a global wave of product transformation and growth, Jaguar Land Rover will debut multiple new models and technology advancements at the 2014 Los Angeles Auto Show.

Making its global debut will be a new variant for the F-TYPE lineup, the 2016 Jaguar F-TYPE All Wheel Drive, as well as the long awaited North American debut of Land Rover's premium compact SUV, the Discovery Sport. In addition, Jaguar Land Rover will announce a new in-car technology at the Connected Car Expo.

Restoration of first 'sinkhole' Corvette displayed

(November 6, 2014) LAS VEGAS — Chevrolet has unveiled the restored 2009 Corvette ZR1 that was damaged earlier this year when a sinkhole developed beneath the National Corvette Museum. It’s on display this week at the SEMA Show, before heading back to the museum in Bowling Green, Ky.

Miami Auto Show opens this weekend; Hyundai to have NA debut

(November 5, 2014) The Ford Mustang GT has been named the Official Show Car for the 2014 Miami Auto Show, which opens with press day this week, Nov. 7. Forty-three manufacturer displays of their latest production vehicles as well as concepts will be on display.

Highlighting press day on Nov. 7, a Hyundai vehicle will make its North America debut.

Ford recalling 202,241 vehicles for several issues

(November 5, 2014) DETROIT — Ford has announced it will call back 202,241 vehicles in five North American recalls covering several issues, including an incorrect repair in a previous recall.

The company is recalling 38,645 Ford Crown Victoria, Mercury Grand Marquis and Lincoln Town Car vehicles from model years 2005 through 2011 because they may have been improperly repaired in a previous recall for an issue with the lower intermediate steering shaft that could result in loss of steering.

2015 Honda Fit takes SEMA show by storm

(November 5, 2014) LAS VEGAS — The all-new 2015 Honda Fit  arrived at the 2014 SEMA Show in strength, with nine personalized versions on display in the Honda booth, quickly winning the coveted SEMA Award as the "Hottest Sport Compact" at a ceremony formally opening the show.

The Honda booth at the SEMA Show is highlighted by the Fit customized by Tjin Edition, voted as the Fan Favorite in the 2015 Fit Performance Project, which enabled fans to track the build processes of several teams through an interactive Honda Tumblr site.

Volvo reveals new V60 Cross Country

(November 5, 2014) Volvo will unveil the long-awaited V60 Cross Country at the 2014 Los Angeles Auto Show later this month.

The Cross Country brand has a long and distinguished heritage.
