Hyundai Ioniq 6 — A compelling EV sedan

MotorwayAmerica.com

By Jim Meachen

(April 30, 2023) The all-new Hyundai Ioniq 6 is the  stylish twin of the Ioniq 5 crossover, but in sedan clothing. While most people — it would seem based on sales of crossover SUVs — would prefer a hatchback and a slightly higher stance, we have not fallen out of love with the once-ubiquitous sedan. And if driving electric was as simple as picking out a product we could afford, we would right now be quietly slinking around town in our 2023 Ioniq 6.

Hyundai Elantra Hybrid — 50 mpg without a cord

(April 23, 2023) In less than a year we've driven the two Hyundai Elantra models on opposite ends of the automotive spectrum. The performance-packed Elantra N on one end and the extremely economical Elantra Hybrid on the other. Talk about 180 degrees. The N can churn out 286 horsepower and scoot from 0-to-60 in 4.9 seconds. The Hybrid can achieve 50 miles to the gallon if driven sensibly. An Elantra for dad on his weekend hijinks and a car for mom picking up the kids from school and doing the grocery shopping.

Hyundai Santa Fe — A great family value

By Jim Meachen and Ted Biederman

(April 9, 2023) The Hyundai Santa Fe, which was all-new for the 2019 model year, is a stylish and practical crossover that offers a roomy two-row cabin, an ample selection of features, decent performance and gas mileage from three engine choices, and very competitive pricing. And all Hyundai vehicles come with one of the most generous warranties in the industry.

(March 19, 2023) While the entire "everything electric" push continues at breakneck speed, there's considerable argument against this massive trillion dollar effort. We won't get into the negative side in this review. We will dwell on the positive, and we positively love the dozen or so electrics we have been privileged to drive and road test over the past couple of years. And some we love more than others.

Hyundai Kona N — Driving thrills in a small crossover

(February 26, 2023) Hyundai's Kona N is the "Ultimate Driving Machine" for the those of us on a budget. It's wildly fun to drive never mind that its a subcompact crossover SUV and a member of a rather large family that offers four ways to travel. In addition to the N, the Kona klan consists of the standard model that is motivated by a 147 horsepower four-cylinder engine paired to a continuously variable transmission, a turbocharged N-Line model that elevates horsepower to 195 ponies, and an all-electric.

2023 Hyundai Palisade

MIAMI — The Hyundai Palisade has been been around for only a short while but already the South Korean automaker’s largest SUV has made quite an impression. Such respected publications as U.S. News & World Report has the 2023 Hyundai Palisade sharing the top spot with Kia’s award-winning Telluride in its rankings of midsize SUVs.

(June 5, 2022) In automakers' fast and furious rush to turn entire inventories electric, they have done a commendable job building stylish, highly desirable vehicles. We've driven about a half dozen of the new EVs over the past 18 months and have seen first hand how easy it is to fall in love with the new electrification.

Hyundai Kona N — Performance personified

(May 29, 2022) We've experienced all four Hyundai Kona drivetrains for 2022. And we've saved the most fun setup for last. We agree, the electric version is very fetching — a small crossover we would consider if dipping our toe into the electric pool — but the new performance-minded N version is the most fun. A hoot with 276 horsepower — 286 in an overboost mode — under the hood of a 3,340-pound car.

(May 1, 2022) Hyundai has created an eye-appealing N Line package for the 2022 Tucson, its popular crossover that has been met with rave reviews since it entered the marketplace late last summer. It doesn't need enhancements to look good, but the N Line takes the compact crossover to the next level in terms of driveway appeal.

(March 20, 2022) Buyers looking for their first electric vehicle should put the 2022 Hyundai Kona on their short list. It checked all the boxes for us after a week and 200 miles behind the wheel. It has stylish proportions, it's easy and fun to drive, its gauges and switchgear work exactly like a standard gas engine vehicle, and perhaps at the top of the list — it gets 258 miles on a single charge.
