Hyundai launches robot guard dog for nighttime facility safety




(September 18, 2021) SEOUL — Hyundai Motor Group  has introduced Factory Safety Service Robot, a robot for industrial site safety, and announced its pilot operation at Kia’s plant in South Korea. The Robot is based on Boston Dynamics’ quadruped robot, Spot, with applied artificial intelligence (AI), autonomous navigation, teleoperation technologies, and computing payload (AI Processing Service Unit) developed by the Group’s Robotics Lab for the Robot’s usage in various industrial tasks.

(September 17, 2021) Mecum Auctions achieved continued success in Dallas this past weekend, with the annual auction event at the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center Dallas featuring 1,101 cars on offer throughout four days of heated auction action. The Sept. 8-11 event saw overall sales reach $36.8 million as 946 vehicles hammered sold for a strong 86% sell-through rate.

Ford begins pre-production of all-electric F-150 Lightning



(September 17, 2021) DEARBORN, Mich. — As the first pre-production F-150 Lightning trucks roll out of Ford’s new Rouge Electric Vehicle Center and demand soars for the all-electric truck, Ford said it will increase investment and add jobs to boost production. Ford is investing an additional $250 million and adding 450 more direct jobs across the Rouge Electric Vehicle Center, Van Dyke Electric Powertrain Center and Rawsonville Components Plant. The investment and added jobs will help increase production capacity to 80,000 trucks a year.

Deloitte Europe orders 140 more Mini electric vehicles for employees



(September 16, 2021) WOODCLIFF LAKE,  N.J.  — More and more young people are opting for an electric company car — at Deloitte alone, 26% of employees do. To meet this growing demand, Deloitte has ordered 140 electric Minis. According to BMW, this is the largest order of fully electric Minis in Europe so far. With an additional charging infrastructure, Deloitte wants to make a significant contribution to climate neutrality.



Ford, Argo AI, and Walmart to launch autonomous vehicle delivery service



(September 16, 2021) DEARBORN, Mich. — Ford, Argo AI and Walmart are working together to launch an autonomous vehicle delivery service in Miami, Austin, Texas, and Washington, D.C. — Walmart’s first multi-city autonomous delivery collaboration in the U.S. The last mile delivery service will use Ford self-driving test vehicles equipped with the Argo AI Self-Driving System to deliver Walmart orders to customers.

A second-generation Sedan de Ville



The first generation of the Cadillac de Ville is remembered by its huge tailfins in 1959 and 1960. The second generation (1961-1964) was re-styled and re-engineered and had a more conservative fin treatment. It came in two-door (Coupe de Ville), four-door (Sedan de Ville) and convertible treatments. Engine choices were 6.4-liter and 7.0-liter V-8s. This 1963 Sedan de Ville was found in eastern North Carolina awaiting possible restoration in eastern North Carolina.
