Electrify America launches business to business charging initiative

(October 28, 2020) RESTON, Va. — Electrify America has announced the launch of Electrify Commercial, a new business unit designed to deliver turn-key electric vehicle (EV) charging solutions to utilities, fleet owners and operators,  government entities and businesses seeking to manage their own network of chargers. Backed by experience gained from building the nation’s largest open DC fast charging network, Electrify Commercial is positioned to support its customers in the planning, procurement, execution, operation, and optimization of electric vehicle charging stations.

Volkswagen to establish new headquarters in northern Virginia

(October 28, 20200 HERNDON, VA. — Volkswagen Group of America has signed a lease as an anchor tenant in Northern Virginia’s Reston Town Center development. Volkswagen Group of America (VWGoA) currently leases multiple facilities in Northern Virginia for approximately 1,000 employees of the Volkswagen, Audi, Bentley, Bugatti and Lamborghini brands and VW Credit, Inc. This move will consolidate those employees into one location, increasing workforce efficiencies and collaboration. The move is expected to take place in late 2023.

GM defense delivers first infantry squad vehicle to U.S. Army

(October 28, 2020) MILFORD, Mich. — GM Defense, a subsidiary of General Motors, is celebrating the first delivery of the Infantry Squad Vehicle (ISV) — a light and agile all-terrain troop carrier intended to transport a nine-Soldier infantry squad and their equipment – to the U.S. Army as part of a $214.3 million contract awarded in June. GM Defense will manufacture 649 ISVs and will support the production of up to 2,065 vehicles with additional authorization over eight years. This is the first major award and delivery for GM Defense since the subsidiary was reestablished by its parent company in 2017.

Harley-Davidson delivers best third quarter net income since 2015

Barrett-Jackson Fall Scottsdale auction sales total $24.9 million

(October 27, 2020) SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. — Barrett-Jackson returned to in-person events during the Fall Auction at WestWorld of Scottsdale, October 22-24, with a safe and highly successful auction. During the three-day auction, the 100-percent No Reserve docket included 442 vehicles that sold for more than $23.5 million, while 349 pieces of automobilia brought in more than $634,000 and $845,000 was raised through the sale of three charity vehicles, bringing the total amount sold on the Barrett-Jackson auction block to more than $24.9 million.

Volvo XC40 Recharge to start at $53,990 with 208-mile range

(October 27, 2020) MAHWAH, N.J.  — The Volvo XC40 Recharge, the company’s first fully electric vehicle, will have an MSRP of $53,990 when it arrives in showrooms nationwide later this year. The purchase of an XC40 Recharge may qualify for a federal tax credit of up to $7,500. State and local incentives could add further benefits.

The popular styling of the XC40 small luxury SUV benefits from the electrified propulsion system without compromising on interior space.

New online tool helps electric car owners choose right charger, find incentives
