A Rabbit in the weeds



This late 1970s model Volkswagen Rabbit was found in a large stand of weeds in eastern North Carolina. The compact Golf was marketed around the world beginning in 1974, but in the U.S. was renamed Rabbit until the mid-80s when VW decided to drop the Rabbit name in favor of Golf. MINI USA says customers can now place orders for electric Mini

The 2020 MINI Cooper SE will reach U.S. showrooms in early March with a starting price of $30,750 including destination charge.

2020 Audi Q7 brings significant updates including a new engine

(December 18, 2019) HERNDON, Va. — The 2020 Audi Q7 has received an all-encompassing update — from enhanced technologies and infotainment systems to exterior and interior design improvements — continuing its tradition as a leader in the luxury SUV segment.

The new Audi Q7 features an all-new 3.0-liter TFSI V6 engine, which generates 335 horsepower and 369 lb-ft of torque, an increase of 44 lb-ft over the previous generation with peak production available at wider and lower RPM ranges. Paired with an eight-speed Tiptronic transmission, which is well suited for the low-end torque of the turbocharged V6.

Ford to invest $1.45 billion, add 3,000 jobs, to two Michigan plants

(December 18, 2019) DEARBORN, Mich. — Ford is investing more than $1.45 billion in two southeast Michigan manufacturing facilities and adding 3,000 new jobs to strengthen its leadership in trucks and SUVs and support the company’s expansion into electric and autonomous vehicles.

Magna to undertake series development of the new Grenadier 4X4 truck

(December 17, 2019) INEOS Automotive has announced an expansion of its partnership with global mobility technology company, Magna. Its subsidiary, Magna Powertrain, has been responsible for chassis and suspension development since the inception of the project.  It will now be joined by Magna Steyr, which will undertake the series development phase of the forthcoming Grenadier.

GM investing $1 billion in Missouri plant to build next-gen midsize pickups

(December 16, 2019) WENTZVILLE, Mo. — General Motors has announced  plans to invest $1.5 billion to bring its next generation of midsize pickup trucks to market. GM’s Wentzville truck plant will receive $1 billion of this investment to upgrade the facility in preparation for the new products. This investment is expected to retain about 4,000 manufacturing jobs at the Wentzville site. Specific information related to GM’s next generation of mid-size trucks is not being released at this time.

Mecum's Kansas City auction brings $9 million

(December 15, 2019) WALWORTH, Wis. — Mecum’s recent Kansas City auction, held Dec. 5-7 at the Kansas City Convention Center in Missouri, saw sales reach an overall total of $9 million at the three-day event as a total of 410 vehicles hammered sold for a strong 70% sell-through rate.

Both modern beauties and stunning classics made a showing in the top-selling spots at the Kansas City auction, and while the top two sellers wore the Ford Blue Oval, it was the Bowtie brand that dominated with six Chevrolets landing on the top 10 list.
