Long-time Toyota employee wins 10-millionth Camry built in Kentucky

(August 28, 2014) GEORGETOWN, Ky. — They say hard work is its own reward, but getting the keys to a new car makes it even better. Just ask Tom Keith. He was the envy of all 7,000 Toyota Georgetown team members when the company announced he had won a 2014 Camry in a random drawing of team members during a ceremony this week.

This wasn’t just any white Camry, this was the 10-millionth vehicle made at the plant since the first Camry rolled off the line in 1988 (another white Camry). Keith is a team member in the Quality Control Department and has been with the company for 26 years.
 

GM to build next-generation Cadillac SRX, new engines at Spring Hill plant

(August 28, 2014) SPRING HILL, Tenn. — General Motors will invest $185 million to make small gas engines at its Spring Hill manufacturing complex, retaining 390 jobs. GM also identified the next-generation Cadillac SRX as a future mid-size vehicle to be produced at Spring Hill. Spring Hill was originally built to manufacture the Saturn.

Toyota to boost U.S. production of hot-selling Highlander

(August 25, 2014) Toyota says it will spend $100 million to boost production of the Highlander SUV at its southwestern Indiana factory, with plans to add 300 workers in the next couple of years. Company officials announced Friday the project would allow it to build up to 30,000 more Highlanders a year at the factory near Princeton, about 25 miles north of Evansville.
