Impreza and Legacy shatter previous month sales records for Subaru

(April 4, 2012) CHERRY HILL, N.J. — Subaru of America today reported record sales for March 2012 of 32,387 vehicles, a 20.33 percent gain over March 2011.  The company also reported year-to-date sales of 80,568, more than 19 percent gain over prior year. March 2012 was the second best sales month in Subaru history, behind only December 2011.

U.S. light vehicle sales increase 13 percent in March

(April 4, 2012) Led by Chrysler, Volkswagen, Hyundai-Kia and Toyota, U.S. light-vehicle sales rose 13 percent last month to 1.4 million units, with demand for smaller, fuel-efficient models, redesigned vehicles and pickups driving the gains. Even with gasoline prices exceeding $4 a gallon in many parts of the country, the SAAR for March hit 14.4 million units.

2013 Toyota Venza gets enhanced exterior styling, more standard features

Porsche to sell diesel-powered Cayenne in U.S.

(April 3, 2012) NEW YORK — Porsche has announced it will offer the Cayenne Diesel in the United States market for the first time beginning with the 2013 model year. The Cayenne Diesel is powered by a 3.0-liter V6 turbo diesel engine, delivering 240 horsepower and 406 lb. ft. of torque from as low as 1,750 rpm.

Chrysler shows 34 percent sales gain over March 2011

(April 3, 2012) AUBURN HILLS, Mich. — Chrysler Group today reported U.S. sales of 163,381 units, a 34 percent increase compared with sales in March 2011 (121,730 units), and the group’s best monthly sales in four years. The Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge, Ram Truck, and Fiat brands each posted sales increases in March versus the same month a year ago.
