GM invests $380 million in Missouri plant

(November 3, 2011) WENTZVILLE, Mo. — General Motors will invest approximately $380 million to prepare the Wentzville Assembly plant for production of an all-new Chevrolet Colorado midsize pickup, creating or retaining about 1,260 jobs hourly and salaried jobs.

“The all-new Colorado builds on Chevrolet’s strong truck heritage,” said Cathy Clegg, GM vice president of Labor Relations.

More than 50 vehicle debuts to be unveiled at the L.A. Auto Show

Kia to build third plant in China to accommodate growing demand

(November 2, 2011) Kia has announced that it plans to build a third manufacturing plant in China in order to meet dramatically increasing local demand and to maintain its positive sales momentum in the Chinese market.

The signing ceremony for the investment Memorandum of Understanding to build the new Dongfeng Yueda Kia Plant 3 in Yancheng, Jiangsu Province was attended by more than 50 Chinese government officials and Kia Motors representatives.

Ford begins taking orders for electric Focus

Honda announces upgrades for 2012 Ridgeline pickup

Infiniti to establish global headquarters in Hong Kong

(November 2, 2011) Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. has announced that Infiniti will locate its new global headquarters in Hong Kong.

The move comes as Infiniti seeks to lift total global sales to 500,000 vehicles a year, as part of Nissan's six-year mid-term business plan, Nissan Power 88.

Chevrolet's global sales have reached 140 countries

Camaro is SEMA’s hottest car for second consecutive year

(November 2, 2011) LAS VEGAS — For the second year in a row, the Chevrolet Camaro is the “hottest car” at the SEMA Show in Las Vegas. The SEMA Award recognizes the most accessory-friendly vehicle, based on the volume of aftermarket parts exhibited at the annual showcase of automotive performance and personalization.

The SEMA Award was first handed out in 2010, which not only makes Camaro a two-time winner, but the only car to receive the award.
