(May 6, 2010) FORT WORTH, Texas — The Cadillac CTS-V was named the 2010 Car of Texas by the Texas Auto Writers Association after topping the competition this week at the group’s Spring Challenge.The Challenge, which featured about 70 cars, was staged at the Texas Motor Speedway.

The event pitted the newest models in the U.S. market against each other in a series of test drives. About 40 auto writers participated in this year’s event and voted on their favorite cars in a variety of categories.

(May 5, 2010) Nissan, Ford and Chrysler Group led the U.S. industry to a 20 percent sales gain in April as demand continued to recover from last year's collapse.

Overall sales rose to 982,302 from 819,692 a year earlier. The seasonally adjusted annual sales rate was 11.5 million, the second strongest of the year behind March's 11.7 million.

(May 1, 2010) Honda will recall 167,255  Acura TSX sedans sold in the U.S. market to address the risk that power steering fluid could leak and cause an under-the-hood fire.

The recall, covering 2004-2008 model year Acura TSX vehicles with 2.4-liter inline four-cylinder engines, comes after one fire was reported due to leaking fluid.

Honda and U.S. safety regulators said that over time power steering hoses may crack and leak.

(April 30, 2010) BOSTON — Saying the 2011 Ford Transit Connect Taxi "fits the bill," the city of Boston this week became the first municipality in America to approve the versatile cab for taxi use, paving the way for taxi owners to purchase the new vehicle for their fleets.

"We're very impressed with the Transit Connect," said Mark Cohen, director, Licensing Division, Boston Police Department. "It's the closest thing to a purpose-built vehicle for taxi use that I've seen in 25 years."
