AAA sees possible decline in gas prices soon

(April 21, 2023) WASHINGTON, D.C. — A drop in gasoline demand and falling oil prices may combine to take the air out of rising pump prices. The national average for a gallon of regular gasoline rose less than a nickel since last week to hit $3.68. “The recent surge in oil costs took a break this week, with the price of oil tumbling back into the upper $70s per barrel,” said Andrew Gross, AAA spokesperson. “If this oil price trend continues, drivers may see falling gas prices.”

Hyundai Ioniq 5 owner makes 9,750-mile round trip from Québec to Mexico

Electric vehicles today are not limited to urban use. Improvements in range and a fast charging system allow drivers to cover great distances in a short period of time, for less cost of a gas-powered model. Patrick Nadeau recently demonstrated this by driving his Ioniq 5 from his home in Disraeli, QC all the way to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico.

(May 16, 2023) With a major — some would say overdue — overhaul apparently in the works for next year, the 2023 Infiniti QX80 is pretty much unchanged in appearance or details from recent years, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing. As a roomy, comfortable vehicle with easy to operate tech features it offers a competitive price in the large luxury SUV segment and now features Infiniti’s  complimentary Premium Care package that provides three years of inspections, oil changes and tire rotations and more.

Higher point of impact makes SUV crashes more dangerous for cyclists

(April 14, 2023) SUVs cause more severe injuries than cars when they hit bicyclists likely because the vehicles’ tall front ends strike the bicyclists higher on their bodies, a new study from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety shows. “SUVs tend to knock riders down, where they can also be run over, rather than vaulting them onto the hood of the vehicle,” said IIHS Statistician Sam Monfort, the lead author of the study. “That’s probably because the higher front end of an SUV strikes the cyclist above their center of gravity.”

Gas prices continue to rise around country

(April 14, 2023) WASHINGTON, D.C. — The national average for a gallon of regular gasoline rose nine cents since last week to hit $3.64. The main culprit is the high cost of oil, gasoline’s main ingredient, which is hovering in the low $80s per barrel. The national average has risen daily since March 29.

The average transaction price (ATP) of a new vehicle in the United States declined in March to $48,008, a month-over-month decrease of 1.1% ($550) from a downwardly revised February reading of $48,558.

(April 10, 2023) BMW tiptoed into the world of electric vehicles about a decade ago with the nifty little i3 hatchback, but goes all in this year with the introduction of the 2023 BMW i7 xDrive60, an electrified take on its full-size flagship 7 Series sedan. Fittingly, the German automaker loaded it up with all kinds of luxurious touches and technological features to take on competing full-size models from Mercedes-Benz and Tesla.
