Chrysler 300 — Big sedan refreshed

By Jim Meachen and Ted Biederman

The large rear-drive Chrysler 300 that took the full-sized sedan market by storm in 2005 with its blocky-but-masculine, gun-slit window appearance, has lived on through the years without a full-blown total makeover. But if its in-your-face styling still strikes a chord with you, be advised that the 300 has undergone a fairly extensive refreshening for 2015, the first since the 2011 model year.

2015 Ford Focus

SANTA MONICA, Calif. — Officially the 2015 Ford Focus is a new model. In reality it’s really more of a facelift. But it’s worthwhile as it now has the same nicely stylish face that has made the Fusion, Focus’s larger sibling, such a hit with those who enjoy owning a good-looking car. There’s nothing wrong with making small cars look attractive and that’s just what Ford has managed with this new so-called Face of Ford style.

Chevrolet Silverado — Now with eight speeds

By Jim Meachen and Ted Biederman

It was a magnet. Our 2015 Chevrolet 1500 Z71 4WD LTZ crew cab was drawing onlookers like a carnival barker inciting a crowd to step inside and see the amazing Asbestos Man swallow great gobs of fire. Surprised? Yes. After all, this was not the newest Ferrari or a Corvette Z-06.

With  notable bragging rights, the best selling car in the United States  for the last  12 years has been the popular Camry from Toyota Motors. The  Camry is now offered  with a host of new improvements for 2015.  The vehicle itself has been redesigned  to a point that it's obvious  that the new edition is far different in appearance  and overall  footprint when compared to the outgoing 2014 version.

Mitsubishi Mirage 5-door — Passing gas stations every day

When consumers shop for a replacement  vehicle, often  MPG numbers are high on the list of criteria and objectives. To that thought,  Mitsubishi Motors is featuring its entry level 2015 Mirage 5-door  hatchback as the most  fuel efficient “non-hybrid” gasoline powered vehicle  available  in America  today.

AUSTIN, Texas — The newest rendition and perhaps the most useable of the award-winning version of the Volkswagen Golf is now reaching showrooms in the form of the Golf SportWagen with a starting base of $21,395. That price point reflects the model 1.8T S  equipped with a manual transmission and a direct-injection 1.8-liter engine.

Infiniti Q70L — Now with more interior space

By David Finkelstein

It certainly appears  that Nissan's premium vehicle division, Infiniti Motors, is redefining the luxury four door sedan market with the introduction of the long wheelbase 2015 Q70L. And worth noting, this model year  represents  the 25th anniversary of Infiniti  Motors selling vehicles stateside.

Lexus NX — Meeting demand in compact luxury segment

By David Finkelstein

Lexus is now offering a totally new, well-crafted  premium utility crossover referred to as its NX models. Its like a scaled down version of it's big brother, the midsize popular RX crossover, which by the way, was first introduced to consumers back in 1998.

The all-new 2015 NX is  positioned in the growing compact SUV/Crossover premium  segment as it competes with the  likes of the Audi Q5, BMW X3 and the Lincoln  MKC. Among things,  it features one of the companies  boldest interpretation  of the signature Lexus spindle front grille DNA and  an overall attractive  outer timeless body design.

Volkswagen Golf SportWagen — The wagon is back

By Jim Meachen and Ted Biederman

Manufacturers apparently put credence in the old refrain that, since the advent of the SUV and especially the crossover, American drivers don't want station wagons. The segment is almost non-existent in the U.S., and is growing less relevant in Europe as crossovers and “sport activity vehicles” multiply. But we think this "wagon is a dirty word" perception would be forgotten if car buyers would get behind the wheel of the 2015 Volkswagen Golf SportWagen.

Nissan Murano — Fresh and appealing

By David Finkelstein

Nissan broke new styling ground with the introduction of the 2015 re-done midsize Murano crossover. If we turn back the clock with our thoughts focused towards the first generation Murano in 2003, it had a ground swelling impact  on the SUV/crossover market in general. It clearly offered a fresh design that combined a number of premium features but without consumers being shackled up against paying a luxury price point.
