Kia Stinger — GT-Line gets major horsepower boost

(January 2, 2022) I know of no data that will back this up but it has been my experience over the last 20 years that automakers pay more attention to updating the higher trims on their models than they do on their entry level vehicles, though many of the features introduced on the top trim eventually trickle their way down through the lineup. Kia, however, seems to be taking a different approach with the newest Stinger.

Kia Carnival — A modern minivan

(October 3, 3031) It was time for a new generation minivan at Kia, but instead of the all-new 2022 Kia Sedona, we have the all-new Kia Carnival. Kia not only revised and reworked its minivan for 2022, but it changed the name, perhaps to distance its newest entry from the typical minivan stigma. The Sedona name has been retired and the minivan moniker has been swept into the trash bin of history. Welcome the new Carnival, which Kia calls a Multi-Purpose Vehicle or MPV.

Kia Telluride — Award-winning crossover

(July 22, 2021) The mid-sized three-row Telluride crossover SUV has been a huge hit for Kia from the standpoint of awards, favorable press reviews, and — more importantly — excellent sales. Customers are flocking to Kia stores to check out and purchase the Telluride since its inception almost two years ago as a 2020 model

2022 Kia Carnival

INDIANAPOLIS — One of my favorite cars is the Moderne-style 1936 Stout Scarab  — a rear-engine aluminum forerunner to the minivan that was aimed at Hollywood’s elite as a more fashion-forward limousine.  Drivers worked in an airplane-inspired cockpit while passengers lounged in the rear. Kia harbors the Scarab’s spirit to create a glamorous and obscenely comfortable multi-purpose vehicle for all you carry. Just don’t call the 2022 Carnival a minivan.

Kia Sorento X-Line — Impressive compact crossover

By Jim Meachen and Ted Biederman

(June 13, 2021) Earlier this year we spent a week with the hybrid version of the all-new 2021 Kia Sorento and we were impressed with the compact crossover's combination of fuel efficiency and performance. In fact we were as impressed with the whole package that delivers ample passenger and cargo space, which includes a small third-row seat; comfortable seats including a great driver's perch; the latest in safety technology; and all-around class-leading styling.

Kia K5 GT — Satisfying performance

By Jim Meachen and Ted Biederman

(May 9, 2021) Auto buyers who still think a mid-sized sedan is an excellent purchase and who are also fans of performance and who usually opt for a brand's higher horsepower version, might look to Kia for their next car. We think the new 2021 Kia K5 should be on everyone's sedan shopping list — especially those who value 0-to-60 time in the 5-second range. The Kia has an outstanding 290-horsepower variant labeled the GT that we found much to our liking.

Kia Sorento — Another Kia winner

(April 4, 2021) Kia has discovered the formula for consistently building attractive automobiles. Virtually every new vehicle that has come out of the automaker's stable over the past couple of years has been stylish inside and out, loaded with new user-friendly technology, and competitively fuel efficient. Three recent examples of hitting the ball out of the park are the mid-sized Telluride CUV, sub-compact Seltos crossover and the mid-sized K5 sedan.

2021 Kia Sorento Hybrid

MIAMI — Fully redesigned for 2021, the Kia Sorento gets a new look as it enters its fourth generation along with an upgraded, premium-like interior, and a new hybrid drivetrain for the fuel-conscious consumer. My model for the week, the 2021 Kia Sorento Hybrid EX, came packed with all kinds of features included in its $38,205 MSRP (including $1,170 for destination and delivery) while earning fuel mileage ratings of 39 miles-per-gallon city, 35 highway, and 37 combined.

Kia K5 — Striving for excellence

By Jim Meachen and Ted Biederman

(November 22, 2020) People have left the once hugely-popular mid-size sedan segment in droves to purchase crossovers. Times change, tastes change and the SUV hatchback is now making the biggest fashion statement in the automotive industry. But we believe after driving three trim levels of the all-new 2021 Kia K5 sedan that when it comes time to make another purchase don’t miss out on one of the best mainstream vehicles to come down the pike in years. It is simply that good and deserves a test drive.

Kia Seltos — Spacious and stylish

(June 7, 2020) The automotive market is booming with sub-compact SUV crossovers, and Kia and its corporate cousin Hyundai, have been leading the way with well-made and attractive products. A great example is the all-new 2021 Kia Seltos, which joins a very attractive lineup of small Kia crossovers including the Soul, Niro and Sportage. Other major competitors for the consumers "just right-size" dollar are the mechanically similar Hyundai Kona, the Honda HR-V, Mazda CX-3 and Subaru Crosstrek.
