Toyota strengthens manufacturing organization

(November 5, 2019) PLANO, Texas — As part of its commitment to mobility and helping people find better ways to go places, Toyota Motor North America, Inc. (TMNA) has announced several changes to its organization to further improve unprecedented changes to the automotive landscape.

Effective immediately, TMNA will establish a Manufacturing Project Innovation Center (MPIC), a new group based at its headquarters to be led by Mike Bafan, group vice president. Bafan will remain chairman of Toyota Motor Manufacturing de Baja California (TMMBC) and Toyota Motor Manufacturing de Guanajuato (TMMGT).

Honda refreshes CR-V for 2020; base model gets bigger engine

Miami gets Jeep Gladiator and Wrangler 'Three O Five' Edition models

(November 4, 2019) MIAMI BEACH — The Jeep brand has introduced two new limited-edition production vehicles targeted specifically to local Miami consumers: the new Jeep Wrangler and Gladiator “Three O Five” Edition models. Based on Jeep Wrangler and Gladiator Sport S models and featured in Miami colors of either orange or white, only 305 total “Three O Five” units will be produced.

Hyundai Sonata introduced in Miami; production begins

(November 2, 2019) MIAMI — Hyundai has introduced its all-new 2020 Sonata at the 49th Miami International Auto Show, marking the Southern Region debut of Hyundai’s longest-standing and most successful model. Production of the eighth-generation Sonata also started this week at Hyundai Motor Manufacturing Alabama (HMMA) and retail sales begin later this month.

Chevrolet to campaign Camaro ZL 1 1LE in NASCAR Cup series in 2020

(November 1, 2019) DETROIT — Chevrolet will switch to the Camaro ZL1 1LE in the NASCAR Cup Series in 2020, replacing the Camaro ZL1, which made its series debut in 2018. Camaro ZL1 1LE — based on the fastest, most track-capable production Camaro ever — will make its competition debut next February during Daytona Speedweeks, which opens the 2020 NASCAR season.
