It has a hatch instead of a trunk lid. If you’re from a country other than the United States, you already know that.

Chevrolet Bolt EV has EPA-estimated 238 miles of range

(September 13, 2016) DETROIT — Chevrolet promised to offer the first affordable electric vehicle with 200 miles or more of range and will exceed those expectations when the 2017 Bolt EV goes on sale later this year. Chevrolet says that with the vehicle’s EPA-estimated range of 238 miles, owners can expect to go beyond their average daily driving needs — with plenty of range to spare — in the 2017 Bolt EV when charging regularly.

Renault-Nissan Alliance hits milestone 350,000 electric vehicles sold

(September 13, 2016) The Renault-Nissan Alliance, the world's leader in zero-emissions mobility, has sold its 350,000th electric vehicle since December 2010, when the Nissan LEAF went on sale. The Alliance achieved the historic milestone in August, while also setting an industry record of 100,000 EVs sold in a single year.

The Alliance today accounts for half of the EVs sold worldwide. The Nissan Leaf remains the industry's best-selling EV ever, with more than 230,000 units sold globally. Renault is the best-performing EV brand in Europe.

Nissan announces turbocharged engine for 2017 Sentra

(September 12, 2016) MIAMI — The new 2017 Sentra SR Turbo made its world debut Saturday at the 46th annual Miami International Auto Show.  The new Sentra SR Turbo joins the popular Sentra sedan lineup later this fall in Nissan showrooms nationwide.

Sentra is Nissan's third best selling vehicle in the United States with sales up 11.2 percent this year (through August). The new Sentra SR Turbo is expected to help keep the sales momentum going by expanding its market reach.

GM recalling 3.64 million vehicles over airbag non-deployment

(September 12, 2016) DETROIT — GM is voluntarily recalling approximately 3.64 million 2014-17 model year vehicles in the United States. The sensing and diagnostic module (SDM) in these vehicles, which controls airbag and pretensioners deployment, contains a software defect that may prevent the deployment of frontal airbags and pretensioners in certain rare circumstances when a crash is preceded by a specific event impacting vehicle dynamics.
