Jaguar partners with design schools to envision future Jaguars

(May 23, 2015) LOS ANGELES, Calif. — Jaguar has announced its partnership with two premier U.S.  design colleges, Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, Calif.., and the Academy of Art University in San Francisco. Student participants in the program will have the opportunity to work on Jaguar design briefs to create a 2030+ model year concept vision halo sports car and 2+2 sports coupe four-door interior.

The design briefs were created by the Jaguar Design team who will interact with students throughout the semester and ultimately judge the students' work.

Dana Mecum's Original Spring Classic exceeds $42.8 million in Indianapolis

(May 22, 2015) The original, largest and best muscle car auction — Dana Mecum’s Original Spring Classic — brought more than classic American muscle to the auction block art the Indiana State Fairgrounds May 12-16 with top sales populated by a mix of modern and vintage, foreign and domestic.

With 1,404 vehicles offered, the variety was well-received by the thousands of bidders in attendance as sales totals reached $42,878,210 with 916 cars hammering sold.

BMW unveils special edition 435i ZHP Coupe Edition

(May 21, 2015) WOODCLIFF LAKE, N.J. —  Paying tribute to the iconic ZHP Performance Package, BMW has released details for a 2016 BMW 435i ZHP Coupe Edition. The original ZHP option code was created by BMW Individual as a performance package for the 2003-2006 E46 3 Series that included the M-Tech II body kit, a ZHP shifter knob and shifter, upgraded suspension parts and settings, a different DME and special cam shafts that raised power output to 235 horsepower and allowed for a higher redline.

Nearly 34 million airbags recalled by Takata affecting 11 automakers

(May 20, 2015) It's the largest auto recall in history, and may be the largest consumer recall — regardless of product — ever.  Japanese air bag manufacturer Takata Corp. is declaring 33.8 million vehicles have its defective airbags.

Under heavy government pressure, the determination will force 11 major automakers to double the recall of vehicles with air bag inflators linked to deadly explosions, from the 17 million recalled to date. Government officials say the campaign could take years to complete and be the single largest U.S. recall of any consumer product, surpassing the callback of 31 million bottles of Tylenol in 1982 amid a poison scare.
