(September 25, 2010) NEW YORK — On the Sept. 22nd “LIVE! with Regis and Kelly,” 26-year-old Ida Bernstein of Cockeysville, Md., ran away with the win during LIVE’s 2010 High Heel-a-thon in Central Park. 

The Maryland grad student finished the 150-yard sprint in a remarkable 19.12 seconds in high heels, setting a new course record and winning the grand prize of an all-new 2011 Volkswagen Jetta, plus a special surprise $10,000 check. 

Opel announces new small car

(September 24, 2010) Opel will build a new small car,  — called the Trixx in concept form — below its Corsa subcompact in Germany and may add an electric version, the automaker announced Thursday.

Currently, Opel has no entry in Europe's fast-growing minicar segment to compete with cars such as the Ford Ka or Volkswagen's forthcoming Up.

Volkswagen to build engine plant in Silao, Mexico

(September 23, 2010) The Volkswagen Group announced today that it will build a new engine plant in Silao, Mexico, as part of its long-term expansion strategy in North America. Beginning in 2013, the new plant will supply engines to the vehicle plants in Chattanooga, Tenn., and Puebla, Mexico.

Range Rover Evoque to be powered by 240-horsepower 4-cylinder
