(April 5, 2013) WALWORTH, Wis. — A true movie star will make its way down Mecum’s signature red carpet this May in Indianapolis. Known by most simply as “Eleanor,” the modified 1967 Ford Mustang from Touchstone Pictures’ Nicholas Cage remake of “Gone in 60 Seconds” will cross the block as Lot S135 at Dana Mecum’s 26th Original Spring Classic auction this May 14-19.

(March 25, 2013) LUTON, UK — The Vauxhall 30-98, one of the greatest sports cars of the 20th century and the first to top 100 mph in production form, is marking its centenary in style this May, when almost 50 surviving examples attempt the Waddington Fell hill climb, site of the car’s first appearance and competition success in 1913.

(March 20, 2013) SAVANNAH, Ga. — Since first visiting my college buddy in Savannah early last year, I’ve made two more trips to what is arguably the most beautiful city in the south.  I was there this month for the traditional greening of the fountain in Forsyth Park, saw Lady Chablis perform at Club One, drank coffee at Gallery, and ate my favorite shrimp n’ grits at Pirates House.  It’s divine.

(March 10, 2013) LONDON — A 1991 Ferrari Testarossa formerly owned by Elton John with only 2,100 miles on the clock is to be sold by international auction house COYS at their Spring Classics sale in London, this week. The 512 Testarossa, which was purchased new by Elton John, is one of 40 cars that will go under the hammer at the Royal Horticultural Society, Lindley Hall, on Tuesday, March 12.
