Ford celebrates Aussie ute’s 80th anniversary

(February 28, 2014) MELBOURNE, Australia — Ford is celebrating the 80th anniversary of its Australian invention of the iconic ute, which led to the development of vehicles such as the F-Series and Ranger and propelled the company to years of truck leadership.

Not only was it an Australian invention, but the concept has been exported to the world, reinterpreted by other manufacturers and gained a legion of fans everywhere.

Italian event celebrates the Spirit of Ecstasy

Mustangs to turn out in record numbers for Silverstone Classic

Chrysler Group's SRT Viper wins NAHC Collectible Car Award

(February 20, 2014) DETROIT — The National Automotive History Collection (NAHC) has selected the Chrysler Group's SRT Viper as its "Collectible Car of the Future."

NAHC members vote annually to name the "Collectible Car of the Future" from North American-built vehicles launched during the previous calendar year. The SRT Viper was selected from 19 all-new vehicles introduced in 2013.

New Enzo Ferrari Museum opens this week

(February 19, 2014) MODENA, Italy — The new Enzo Ferrari Museum (EFM) was opened Feb. 18 in Modena by Luca di Montezemolo and Piero Ferrari, the son of the man who started off the amazing story of a marque recognized today as the strongest in the world.

The choice of Feb. 18 for the reopening of the MEF was in recognition of the anniversary of Enzo Ferrari’s birth on Feb. 18, 1898.

Toyota Coaster — New bus, same as the old bus

(February 13, 2014) This Toyota Coaster may look like the minibus that was first introduced back in 1969, but in fact it the paint is barely dry.

A team of Toyota technicians scoured old storehouses and even scavenged scrap metal from around Japan to build this bus. Rusted panels were polished up and damaged parts were reproduced from original drawings to re-make this Coaster prototype.

50 years ago the classic Mini won the Monte Carlo Rally for first time

(January 24, 2014) Small car, huge win: it is now 50 years since one of the most spectacular victories in the history of international motor sport. On Jan. 21, 1964, the Mini Cooper S won the Monte Carlo Rally for the first time. It was the pairing of Northern Ireland’s Patrick (“Paddy”) Hopkirk and his co-driver Henry Liddon that pulled off the big surprise, resisting the supposed superiority of significantly more powerful rivals in their small British car.
