Kawasaki plans 'Ninja Times Square Takeover' on Sept. 13

(August 29, 2012) IRVINE, Calif. — Kawasaki U.S.A. is going big with its global debut of its 2013 line of iconic Ninja motorcycles in New York’s Times Square, Sept. 13.  The company will stream a live feed of the reveal of their latest motorcycles during the “Ninja Times Square Takeover” from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Second-quarter earnings, sales up for Harley-Davidson

(August 1, 2012) MILWAUKEE — Harley-Davidson today reported continued increases in earnings and dealer new motorcycle sales for the second quarter of 2012.

Income from continuing operations was $247.3 million, or $1.07 per share, on consolidated revenue of $1.73 billion for the quarter, compared to income from continuing operations of $190.6 million, or $0.81 per share, on consolidated revenue of $1.51 billion in the year-ago quarter.

Audi finalizes purchase of Ducati

(July 19, 2012) FRANKFURT — Audi says it completed the 860 million euro ($1.06 billion) purchase of Italian motorcycle manufacturer Ducati Motor Holding S.p.A

Ducati, the maker of the Monster, Diavel and Superbike models, was acquired by Audi's Lamborghini sports car unit from Milan-based private-equity firm Investindustrial Advisors S.p.A. Deliveries last year totaled about 42,000 motorcycles, with revenue at 480 million euros.

Honda CRF25OR machine of choice for James Bond in newest 007 film

(July 17, 2012) Honda in the UK has announced its partnership with the upcoming James Bond film, Skyfall, and today unveiled the actual Honda machines used in the film, at the National Motor Museum in Beaulieu.

Honda’s CRF250R motorcycle proved to be the machine of choice by the 007 film’s action vehicles and stunt crew teams. These motorbikes were modified for the opening sequence of the 23rd James Bond film which was shot in Istanbul and Adana, Turkey earlier this year.
