Polestar 6 LA Concept edition build slots sell out in one week



(September 1, 2022) GOTHENBURG, Sweden — Polestar, the Swedish electric performance car company, has seen overwhelming response in build slot reservations for the Polestar 6 LA Concept edition that was announced on Aug. 16. Combined with a public debut of the electric roadster concept in North America at The Quail, A Motorsports Gathering and Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance events in California, all 500 build slots were reserved online within a week of the production announcement.

Toyota announces $2.5 billion expansion of N.C. battery plant



(August 31, 2022) LIBERTY, N.C.  — Toyota has announced an additional investment of $2.5 billion in its newest North American facility, Toyota Battery Manufacturing North Carolina (TBMNC). This investment adds capacity to support battery electric vehicle (BEV) battery production and adds 350 jobs, bringing the total employment to approximately 2,100. Scheduled to begin production in 2025, the facility will produce batteries for hybrid electric vehicles (HEV) and BEVs.  

2023 Mazda CX-9 to start at $40,025

Nissan continues eliminating vehicles — Rogue Sport gets cut



(August 31, 2022) Nissan will ax the Rogue Sport crossover as it focuses on higher-volume models and revamps its lineup for an electric future. Production of the Rogue Sport will end in December, Nissan told dealers in a memo obtained by trade magazine Automotive News.

Genesis reveals Electrified G80 U.S. pricing starting at $80,920

Starting from $80,920 including destination, the Electrified G80 continues Genesis’ commitment towards a more sustainable future with the brand achieving a fully electrified lineup by 2030. Importantly, the brand announced the expansion of electric vehicle sales at select retailers located in four more states: Arizona, Nevada, Utah, and Washington beginning in September.

Dodge HEMI Challenge returns to the 'Big Go' for its 21st edition



(August 30, 2022) AUBURN HILLS, Mich. — The 21st edition of the longest-running, continuous, specialty race in National Hot Rod Association (NHRA) history, the Dodge HEMI Challenge, will take center stage at the 68th annual Dodge Power Brokers U.S. Nationals Sept. 1-2 at Lucas Oil Indianapolis Raceway Park. The fan-favorite event features heads-up, wheel /-standing, side-by-side racing of vintage HEMI-powered 1968 Dodge Dart and Plymouth Barracuda “package cars” that dominated the NHRA Super Stock (SS/AH) class for more than five decades.
