(March 6, 2013) GENEVA — Fifty auto writers from around the world have selected four finalists for World Car of the Year to be named at the New York International Auto Show on March 28. The world car finalists are the Volkswagen Golf, Mercedes-Benz A-Class, Porsche Boxster/Cayman and as a combined entry, the Scion FR-S/Subaru BRZ/Toyota GT 86.

Jurors selected finalists in three sub-categories:

— World Green Car of the Year : Renault Zoe, Tesla Model S and Volvo V60 Plug-in Hybrid

— World Car Design of the Year: Aston Martin Vanquish, Jaguar F-Type and Mazda6

— World Performance Car of the Year: Ferrari F12 Berlinetta, Porsche Boxster/Cayman and Scion FR-S /Subaru BRZ/Toyota GT 86
