Vicari to offer special Chevelles at New Orleans auction Dec. 1

(November 20, 2012) HARVEY, La. — The Vicari Auction Company will offer select cars from the Brent Trauth Chevelle Collection during the third annual New Orleans Classic Auto Festival Dec. 1 at the fMardi Gras World in New Orleans.


Trauth — a long-time Chevrolet Chevelle collector and restorer — is offering several vehicles from his personal collection during the Dec. 1 Vicari Auction.

Headlined by a rare 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS 454 LS5 V8 automatic, which features the original engine, cowl induction, factory air, power steering, brakes and a power convertible top, this Chevelle features the renowned Black with White racing stripes exterior with pristine White bucket seats.



Vicari will also offer a hard top 1970 Chevelle Malibu Survivor Car from the Trauth Collection. This two-owner car has 43,000 documented original miles and boasts its original 350 cubic inch 300 HP V8, as well as a dual exhaust, tachometer, power steering and power brakes. It has a Grey exterior, black hard top, black interior with bench seats and a special ordered factory SS dash.



In addition, the collection features a show-ready 1970 Chevelle SS 396, at right, and a 1972 Chevelle Malibu.

The cars will be available during the preview on Friday, Nov. 30,  from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. at no charge to spectators.

General admission to Vicari's New Orleans Auction is $10, with children 10 and under admitted free. Registration is Friday from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Auction gates open at 8 a.m. Saturday with the collectibles and automotive memorabilia auction beginning at 9:30 a.m.
