Roof signs proclaims Chattanooga is VW home in the southern U.S.

(September 24, 2012) CHATTANOOGA, Tenn.  — Volkswagen Chattanooga has completed a 650-foot-long roof sign that reaches out to air travelers and web surfers alike to announce the presence of the plant that builds the Volkswagen Passat.

The sign, on the roof of the body shop, is 633 feet long and 208 feet deep. The capital letters are 85 feet high and the lower-case letters are 55 feet high. The roofing signage is an acrylic, elastomeric, spray-applied coating.

The sign is visible to air passengers arriving and departing from nearby Chattanooga Metropolitan Airport.
