Rolls-Royce hints at Wraith with silhouette shot

(January 23, 2013) Rolls-Royce Motor Cars today published the first official image of its new model Wraith, which will be launched at the Geneva Motor Show in March. The graceful silhouette gives expression to a bold and thoroughly contemporary luxury car. Flowing lines hint at the extraordinary power and dynamic promise of the most powerful Rolls-Royce in history, yet also highlight design cues that can be traced through the model generations.

Rolls-Royce Wraith evokes the pioneering spirit and lust for adventure that drove company forefather Charles Rolls — the consummate gentleman racer. But like Rolls, Wraith will also be steeped in the trappings of luxury and opulence.

The silhouette indicates that the car should provide seating for four passengers.

The Wraith is based on a shortened-wheelbase version of the steel-bodied Ghost platform. Rumor has it that it will be outfitted with the company's twin-turbo V12 engine developing more than 600 horsepower, which will make it the fastest Rolls-Royce yet offered.
