Opel to show creatively styled two-seat electric car

(September 9, 2011) Opel has announced it will show a two-seat electric microcar at the Frankfurt Motor Show next week, one of several small two-seaters that will be on the showroom floor pointing to a growing demand for high-mileage personal "city car" transportation.

Opel says the creatively styled concept has production potential.

The battery-powered electric vehicle will have a 60-mile range and be capable of 75 mph. The concept has two seats in a tandem layout, and its light weight — around a third of a small modern car’s — would allow it to be agile.

The small cockpit seems to be similar to the layout used in the VW and Audi EVs that use a slightly offset seating layout.
