Nissan sales in Brazil up 142 percent in April

(May 7, 2012) Nissan of Brazil registered 8,614 units in April, growth of 142% compared to the same period in 2011, when the company sold 3,542 units. Registering 3.5% of market share, NBA surpassed its goal for the period and remained, for the fourth consecutive month, as the sixth best-selling automotive company and first best-selling Asiatic brand in the country.

With 1,275 units sold, Frontier leveraged Nissan’s sales
performance and achieved its best market share in history with 14.1%. In April 2011, Frontier market share was 7.6%.

“In contrast to the slowdown of the Brazilian automotive market, Nissan has kept the pace of sales,” said Christian Meunier, president of Nissan of Brazil. “We are very optimistic about our growth plan with solid and gradual results."

    March sold 3,255 units
    Versa sold 1,772 units
    Sentra sold 725 units
    Tiida sold 739 units
    Livina sold 845 units
    Frontier sold 1,275 units
